What We Do
Although we could do commercial, tile, or metal roofing, we don’t want to be a jack-of-all-trades because that’s not an expert in one particular trade. So we specialize in one thing—installing asphalt shingles on people’s homes—and we focus on doing it exceedingly well. With that singular focus, each of our employees can be an expert in his or her part of the project.
We know asphalt shingles inside out and are experts in roofing residential properties. By specializing in this way, we build on our skills and knowledge each time we re-roof another home in the Calgary area, becoming better and better at what we do best.

10 Steps to Quality
1 Quote
We don’t believe in guesswork. Our quotes are thorough, not just rough estimates. We want you to know exactly what you’ll be getting so there are no unexpected surprises. We accurately measure your roof and inspect it for issues that may affect the cost, like rotting decking or problems with ventilation or flashing. The completed quote provides specifications and prices for all elements of your roof system: roof deck, ventilation, eave protection, flashing, underlayment and shingles.
2 Contract
An estimate or quote is not a legal contract. We spell everything out in a written service contract so you know exactly what you’re paying for, and so you’re completely protected in the event of any misunderstandings. Your contract will specify the exact work to be performed and all materials to be used. And we don’t add extras. The contract price is exactly what you’ll pay.
3 Scheduling
Roofing is a highly weather dependent industry, so we can’t absolutely guarantee an installation date However, we never overbook our jobs so it’s rare that the weather will change the installation date by more than a week. We will notify you if we need to reschedule, and we always call the day before your scheduled installation to remind you and make sure you’re prepared.
4 Preparation
Your roofing materials and bin will be delivered by our suppliers. We will notify you when the bin is scheduled to arrive so you can ensure proper access. Your Project Manager will call you the day before your scheduled installation to confirm when the crew will arrive and to advise you if there are other issues you need to be aware of.
5 Installation
A foreman will advise you when the crew arrives to start your installation. If you’re not home, that’s okay. We know what to do! There are many preparations for a quality installation and some of the most important are making sure your house and property are protected from damage.
We refuse to use sub-contractors to do your roofing. We believe that when you hire us to do your roofing, that’s exactly what you deserve. We only use our own certified installers to ensure the work meets our high standards and that everyone on the job is accountable for their work. We will simply provide the best roofing service.
6 Inspection
No “Done Right Roof” is complete until it has passed final inspection by a senior roofing technician. Covering over 50 crucial requirements of a quality installation, the inspection also includes many points assessing the quality of the cleanup. We ensure there is no mess left behind and no damage to your property.
Although any quality deficiencies are corrected before we consider the job complete, our employees earn a bonus if the installation passes the quality inspection the first time, a great incentive for top-notch work.
7 Warranty
In addition to the shingle manufacturer’s warranty, we protect you with our:
- Lifetime Installation Warranty. We will repair, at no charge to you, any installation faults for the full lifetime of your shingle.
- $1,000 Quality Assurance Rebate. If a significant portion of your roof was faultily installed, we will make the necessary repairs and pay you $1,000 to compensate you for the inconvenience.
8 Payment
We do not ask for deposits. The full payment is due only when the installation is completed and inspected by a senior roofing technician. For your convenience, we accept cheques or credit cards.
9 Warranty Calls
Nobody’s perfect, but our records show that 97.4% of our installations are problem free. In the unlikely event you need to call us back, rest assured we stand 100% behind our warranty: you can call us 24/7; we’ll respond to all emergency calls within 24 hours; and we’ll be on-site to check out the problem as soon as possible.
10 Feedback
We constantly seek improvement in every step of our roof installation process – from first contact to job completion – and your comments let us know how we’re doing. After your installation, we always ask for your feedback so you can tell us about your experience and help us in our quest for perfection.
Using Subcontractors: Why You Should Just Say No
Most roofing companies in Calgary use subcontractors to do installations, especially in the peak season. We used to do that too, until we realized that almost all complaints, problems, and callbacks were due to this practice. We continue to use subcontractors for some exteriors but never for roof installations.
What’s Wrong With Using Subcontractors?
We’ve found that having our own employees do installations results in better quality and a better experience because:
- Subcontractors work for the contractor—not for you. Naturally, you’re not their first priority. Our employees are here to serve you, the client. You’re always their first priority.
- Subcontractors are usually paid by the job, so it’s in their best interests to get the job done as fast as possible. That can lead to shortcuts or simply not taking the time to make sure the job is done right.
- As a roofing company, we have no way of knowing how much training a subcontractor has received or if that training was correct. A subcontractor might be using techniques he was trained in that we would consider completely inappropriate. Our employees are trained to our high standards and properly supervised so we—and you—can relax.
- Subcontractors also use their own tools, equipment, and employees. As with training, their tools, equipment, and employees might not meet our high standards.
- Good subcontractors are in high demand during the peak season. That means that contractors may not be able to secure them, but they still have to get jobs done. This can lead to hiring subcontractors who may not be as focused on quality.
- Companies hire subcontractors to keep their costs down; they don’t have to pay CPP, EI, or Workers’ Compensation because the subcontractors aren’t employees and they don’t have to keep them on the payroll in slower seasons. While managing costs is part of doing business, we believe that the focus should be on doing what is best for the client when making business decisions.
- Subcontractors don’t understand what our company is all about. Our employees live and breathe our vision, mission, and culture. They know we’re the roofing company where you’re treated like a friend and they approach each client that way, making for what we think is a better roofing experience.

1 We Never Use Subcontractors!
Many roofing contractors use sub-contractors, especially in the busy season, to do the actual roofing work. Sub-contractors are not accountable for their work and are unlikely to do the installation according to the same standards as employees. All our installations are done by our employees, who are accountable for maintaining our high standards.
2 We Replace All Flashing
More leaks are caused by old flashing than by the failure of the shingles. But flashing isn’t designed to last longer than the shingles. That’s why all flashing should be replaced when you re-roof. If it isn’t, it’s a recipe for problems down the road. You could experience leaks in just a few short years, despite having new shingles. We replace every piece of flashing on your roof penetrations and everywhere that your roof and walls meet to ensure a problem-free installation.

8 Fully Licensed, Bonded & Insured
- We are licensed by the City of Calgary.
- We are bonded to protect you in situations in which there has been default, negligence, misrepresentation, theft, conversion, or fraud.
- We carry $2 million of liability insurance to cover you and your neighbours against any property or injury damages.
- You may be held liable if an uninsured worker is injured on your property. Our certified installers are covered by Workers’ Compensation insurance and we will be happy to provide you with an up-to-date clearance letter.
9 No Overbooking & Weather Protection
Our scheduling takes days lost to bad weather into account. We only schedule what we know we can install so you’re not left waiting and wondering.
Your roof is never left exposed to bad weather conditions. Calgary’s weather is unpredictable and we know we can’t afford to take chances with your home. To make sure your home is protected: We only remove the amount of your old roof that we believe we can re-install in one day. If there are exposed areas at the end of the day, we protect them with waterproofing and tarps.
